    Description

Iros Keen (a trademark used by I. Rosenbaum) coke bottle knife in the classic pattern with a single clip blade.  This is a big, heavy knife; it is 5-1/4 inches closed and 9-1/4 inches with long pull clip blade open.  Blade tang stamped:  IROS KEEN with wedge logo between the words.  Handles are Cocobolo with a fancy banner shield.  Liners are steel and bolsters are nickel silver with holes for a bail or lanyard.
Condition is used - NKCA - Excellent.  The beautiful  Cocobolo handles have a very tiny hairline crack on the front by the cap end bolster and a larger hairline crack on the back by the bottom bolster.  There are also some chips on the back from the natural grain of the wood - see photos.  The blade has been cleaned prior to my ownership, but still shows a few fine pits and scratches.  Blade is 97% length and 95% width with half stop, good snap and moderate wobble.  Photos are explicitly part of this description.
Iros Keen was a trademark used from 1924 to 1925 by I. Rosenbaum.  Per Goin's Encyclopedia of Cutlery Markings, Isaac Rosenbaum was an importer located in New York City.  This knife is not marked with a country of origin, which it should have been if it was imported in 1924 or 1925.  It may have been domestically produced, or may have had a very light "wash stamp", which some importers were known to use.  Either way, I don't know who made this knife.  It is a big, solid coke bottle knife, typical of the 1920s, with a rare tang stamp.
