    Description

    PI1541 Zero hat (Pi Zero not included) is a HAT to bring youthe combination of a Pi1541 with the Epyx Fastload cartridge.
    All in one unit!
    The power for both devices comes from thecartridge slot.
    (DO NOT power the PiZero while this is connected to the C64!!!)
    How to attachthe Pi Zero to this HAT
    The PCB of the Pi Zero should be at the
    top edge
    on the HAT.  The
    four standoff alignment holes should all be lined up in each corner
    . (If it’s not installed this way, it will send 5v down to the 74LS logic chip and fry it.
    If you need the software configuration, please email me a good address for you via eBay messaging and I will send you a complete setup zip file that all you have to do is expand the contents onto a formatted SD card and you will be all set.
    Notes:  You will need to overclock the Pi Zero with the following in the "config.txt" file to add some horsepower to the Raspberry Pi Zero:
    # 10% overclock
    arm_freq=1100
    over_voltage=8
    sdram_freq=500
    sdram_over_voltage=2
    Also, as of this time,
    Kernel image v1.24
    has a software problem with lighting the LED.  All else works fine, but
    if you want the LED/Activity light to work, you will need to use Kernel image v1.23
    .  I believe that there is a bugfix coming for this probably in Kernel v1.25, but that is not available yet.  It is not a hardware issue.
    Included:
    Pi 1541 Zero HAT fully assembled and tested.
    Includes Fastloader chip just as an original Fasloader!
    Fastload will work fine without the Pi Zero attached.
    If you’d like to add that later and simply use this as a Fasloader for now, you can certainly do that.
    F.A.Q.
    Can I connect it to other disk drives?
    Yes, it has to be the last device on the chain as this is the Pi1541 Option A setup.
    Does it support .D81 disk image files?
    Epyx Fastloader will not support 1581 disk drive images. You can disable the Fastload and still use the Pi1541 Zero with 1581 disk images.
    Can I hook it up to a large screen?
    Pi Zero doesn't support the HDMI output like the other Pi1541 Model 3’s do. You can use CBM file browser or similar to see the SD card contents.
    DO NOT
    connect external power source to the Pi Zero if it is plugged in to the C64!
