    Description

    This teddy bear is quite large at 19 1/2" tall.  He is a fully jointed mohair Teddy bear with felt pads.  He is of the same quality as a Steiff teddy bear.  The bear is wearing a certificate from Althans of West Germany.  The certificate or tag says the teddy bear was made on May 2, 1985.  According to the tag, he is a limited edition Althans teddy bear number 1 of only 300.  The certificate is signed by the Althans president Gunther Kessel.  The bear is also signed by Kessel and numbered on his left foot.  Here it says he is 1 of 1000.  Since the tag is removeable, I would go by the info on his foot.  Either way is is the first of his line!  This large and beautiful vintage Althans teddy bear is in excellent condition.
